Helping Doctors and Researchers Facilitate Immunology Research

Since the client is an internationally recognized leader in immunology research, they were studying the movements and trajectories of various cells. They needed a team of qualified professionals who could annotate this for them.

The client is currently conducting research that requires monitoring and tracking the movements of various cells. The entire trajectory of movement of each cell must be accounted for since this work will be used for future research in immunology. This meant that the client could not simply hire just any group of annotators. It needed to be a responsible group of individuals who will take their job seriously and consistently provide a high level of annotation. There also needed to be a QA process in place to make sure that all of the work was done correctly on time.

Mindy Support provided the client with comprehensive data annotation services starting from recruiting and onboarding to on-the-job training. Since the client did not require the team members to have a medical education, it gave us more flexibility in terms of candidate selection, but it posed additional challenges to the training process at the same time.

The client would send us videos obtained from studying the cells through microscopes. We needed to annotate this video using an open source tool called, Fiji, created by ImageJ. The client gave us instructions in terms of how the annotation should be performed, but we were responsible for training new team members how to use the tool and how they should annotate the videos. Throughout the project, we kept in close contact with the client to make sure all of the work was done correctly.
