Predicting Future Weather Conditions With Geospatial Data Annotation for AI

Weather patterns are a dynamic and intricate system governed by the Earth’s atmosphere. At the same time, meteorologists employ advanced technologies and models to forecast weather patterns, but an inherent element of unpredictability persists, giving rise to weather uncertainty. One of our clients in Germany sought to bring some clarity in predicting weather conditions. In order to help train the AI model, we annotated more than 1,000 videos containing geospatial data with polygon annotation while working under strict deadlines and without sacrificing quality. Our task was to place bounding boxes around the needed PII and also label each piece of data as an “email,” name,” telephone number,” etc. What made actualizing this project even more interesting is that the annotation needed to be done in many languages, such as Spanish, Italian, Korean, Swedish, Finnish, Czech, and many others.
