A Recap of Our CEO’s Trip to Germany

Last month, Mindy Support’s CEO, Igor Tkach, visited Germany to deepen our engagement with clients, prospects, and partners. Mindy Support always makes the utmost effort to broaden our reach, make new connections, and exchange insights, and we would like to provide you with a brief recap of Igor’s and the results he was able to achieve.

Expanding Our Understanding of AI

Artificial intelligence is quickly permeating everyday life, influencing how people work, play, and get basic services like food delivery, banking services, and medical care. AI is also transforming industries like automotive, construction, agriculture, and many others. During this trip, Igor and other business leaders discussed the growing importance of AI and the need to train them correctly. This, of course, requires quality data annotation as well as the various quality assurance mechanisms in place to make sure all the work was done correctly.

All the stakeholders in the talks agreed that the algorithms in AI and ML are built on data. The way human brains process visual information is not replicated by computers. For a computer to make decisions, it needs to be informed about what it is understanding and given context. These links are made by data annotation. High-quality data annotation also ensures the scalability of AI and ML applications. To help robots recognize and categorize information as humans do—and to make predictions—it is the human-led activity of identifying and labeling certain data, photos, and videos. ML algorithms will find it difficult to compute the critical attributes if data labeling is not completed.

AI is the Future

Human capabilities are being enhanced by digital life, which is also upending age-old human practices. More than half of the world’s population now has access to code-driven systems for ambient information and communication, which present both extraordinary potential and risks. Many experts Igor met during the trip believe networked artificial intelligence will amplify human effectiveness but also threaten human autonomy, agency, and capabilities.

They discussed the broad range of possibilities, including the possibility that computers could match or even surpass human intelligence and capabilities in a variety of domains, including speech recognition, language translation, advanced analytics and pattern recognition, smart decision-making, reasoning and learning, and visual acuity. They claimed that “smart” systems will save time, money, and lives and provide opportunities for people to enjoy a more personalized future in communities, cars, buildings, utilities, farms, and business processes.
